Childrens corner. One of the highlights of this years exhibition was the inclusion of these eleven young artists who painted these works only three weeks ago in this very room. Great stuff!

This exhibition is a little bit different this year as we are having a fire show on the schoolhouse grounds during the exhibition opening night performed by two visiting members of the St. Pathus Color Expo Art Group from France and a candle/ lamplight concert amongst the paintings with mezzo soprano Siobhan Terry and Friends at the school house on Saturday night 30th July at 7.30pm.

11 Children - all under 11 - in 2011  

Eleven local children will take this opportunity to show their first ever works that they created in the school house during their art workshop week that they took part in earlier this month. (See News and Photographs)

French Visitors

Five invited French Artists from Color Expo in St Pathus will also be exhibiting their paintings along with members of  the Sligo Oil Painting Group and other local artists. We expect a total of 150 paintings will be on show over the weekend.

 All procedes to Mullaghmore Active

Mullaghmore Active (formerly Mullaghmore Development Association) is a community group based in Mullaghmore Co Sligo. The group has been in existence for almost 30 years and is dedicated to the improvement and enhancement of Mullaghmore village and environs.

Each year Mullaghmore Active looks after the planting and maintenance of the many grassy areas, rockeries and flower beds around the village. The group also co-ordinate the local Community Employment scheme, liaise with Sligo Co Council, enter for the National and local Tidy Towns competitions, organise regular clean-ups of the area, promote litter control and awareness, and generally promote Mullaghmore as a beautiful place in which to live/work/visit.

Mullaghmore Active relies entirely on donations from the local community and visitors to continue its good work. Committee members are happy to accept donations and volunteers are always needed to assist with planting, clean-ups and litter control. Committee members include: Peter McHugh, Eleanor Hegarty, James Conway, Jimmy Burns, Colette McEnhill, Pat Martin, May Burns.

2010 Mullaghmore Art Exhibition

 

Getting ready.  Rose, Freddie Sheila and Mary with just over seven hours to opening.

The annual Mullaghmore art exhibition opened on Friday night July 30th and will be continuing until Monday August 2 at 4pm. 

The exhibition has had a very positive response from both locals and tourists alike who packed the schoolhouse on a very energetic and exciting opening night. 

The 106 oil paintings and watercolours on show are the work of local artists mainly from County Sligo as well as some from Counties Donegal and Leitrim. 

The exhibition is in aid of the local Mullaghmore Active Development Association.
